Identity

Identity uniquely defines a person and is the main driving force of a diverse social dynamic. In many ways the identities of a society’s individuals speaks about its variety. The definition of identity itself is so ambiguous because it is used for a multitude of meanings. In a paper of James D. Fearon to attempt to analytically define the word identity incorporating all its uses today, he states that “identity” is presently used in two linked senses, which may be termed “social” and “personal” (Fearon, 2).
