Loss. A four letter word with a multitude of meanings. A crippling illness lingering in one’s head and heart. A pain that will demolish any hopes of feeling better. Loss brings out strengths, weaknesses, morals, and beliefs, which aid in the grieving process. What one word can mean so much to one person and so little to another? Loss. Although many people experience loss differently, all are important and experienced in this society today. Loss is a misunderstood and unwanted illness affecting majority of society. Despite the misconceptions, being upset about loss is never a sign of weakness. Loss allows for growth and strength within a person, and it allows for bonding between families and friends in times of hardship. It can show one’s strengths in coping and supporting others. Time does not heal the grief of a loss. Majority of society experiences it differently, so just because one person heals does not mean another has.
