Passion
“Passion is a strong feeling of enthusiasm or excitement for something or about doing something”(Merrian Webster). Passion can be defined in a dictionary, but it isn’t truly able to fulfill the true feeling of passion. Passion is a main component in success, love, and enjoyment. To begin, passion has influenced many successful people. In lives of famous athletes, famous, successful people that strive to be the best they can be have always had success because of passion. Michael Jordan, a passionate basketball player, became the best he could be all because he loved the sport. Passion consumed this athlete and drove him to go above and beyond to become the best. This drove him to put in an extra hour of practice, study the sport, run the extra mile and put in every thing he possibly could all because he was passionate. Full potential can’t be reached without it. Passion is so powerful; it consumes every other feeling in the body. Secondly, passion can’t be many things. When being passionate, people tend to view it as an obsession. To an extent, this is true. It is known that when someone is truly passionate about something, they have strong feelings toward what or whom the person is passionate about, almost as if they were obsessed. Being obsessed with something is very likely to become a passion. First, it is something someone becomes interested in, and then it is something a person can’t stop thinking about. Eventually it becomes a strong feeling that someone has toward something. Passion is like the light shining after a dark day.
