Failure “Failure is not the worst in the world. The very worst is not to try”. At some point in life, most people are going to face failure. It is simply a part of life. If people always live in fear of failure, they will never be able to learn from their mistakes or reveal their true potential. People often associate failure with a negative connotation, however, failure provides us with some of the most important lessons in life. Some of the important values learned from failure are determination, motivation, dedication, persistence, and most of all, hard work. Failure provides people with the opportunity to start over and grow as an individual, giving them a chance to learn from their mistakes. Another professional athlete who faced many challenges was Peyton Manning. Manning had to sit out of an entire year of football, due to multiple neck surgeries and a spinal fusion. After all of Manning’s surgeries, many people believed he would never be able to play again and that he had incapacitated his career. But Manning didn’t give up and worked extremely hard to complete his rehab. During Manning’s recovery, he was cut from his previous NFL team, the Indianapolis Colts. After Manning’s recovery, he was able to win five NFL MVP awards and two Super Bowls, while beating many records. Although Peyton Manning was a great player before his injury, he had to work harder to reclaim his reputation. During Manning’s recovery, he discovered that he needed to have the willpower and strength in order to fully recover and be able to supersede his past reputation.
