What is Happiness? The meaning of happiness according to the dictionary is defined through happy: A mental or emotional state of well being defined by positive or pleasant emotions ranging from contentment to intense joy. Happiness is a feeling that is not concrete but rather philosophical and abstract because this is a feeling that is accompanied when something is in someones favor. Happiness to me is an emotion expressed through a smile that gives a person a sense of contentment or great joy. Happiness is a deep word dating back centuries that to to many people is a word that is used to describe the meaning of life or rather that in relation to the meaning of life. Happiness comes from a variety of words and places dating back to old English and Germanic languages in Europe. But I do not believe this to be the case because if you are content with life it does not necessarily mean you are lucky rather you are just happy in simplest terms. If someone was lucky to have all the riches in the world does that make them happy? maybe it can but maybe not because there is people who have all the riches in the world but yet have not found happiness because as many say “Happiness can not be bought.” A man or woman can search all over the world looking for happiness through materialistic things but find happiness through a person and maybe then they are lucky?
