The idea of race and other concepts that have to do with race were thought up by white people to create a divide between them and other races. This was used to justified their treatment of African Americans and killing of the Native Americans (23). This allowed white people to create a supremacy where they were on top despite the fact that the Constitution is considered colorblind (25). Eventually the populist party, the party that supported blacks as equals, was getting popular. This caused the south to create Jim Crow laws to segregate black people despite giving them the same rights as white people (33-34).
Racism and segregation has a mass history in the United States which impacted our society greatly. There were many riots, boycotts, and strikes which occurred throughout the 1900’s. Many people simply wanted peace and to bring everyone together no matter what race or color and others wanted to be separated from people with a different skin color and race. Whites and blacks were being separated from bathrooms and even restaurants. This resulted in conflict between our society which left many killed and injured.

The study of racism has a profound potential to become an ambiguous sociological endeavor. Incidentally, accounting for the multitude of factors which encompass this subject appear to make it the very heart of the matter and consequently the most time consuming. Although, it is my belief that all three of the main sociological theories (Functionalism, Conflict Theory and Symbolic Interactionism) should be integrated in order to achieve a legitimate and quantifiable outcome, for obvious reasons the “Conflict Theory” logically renders the best possible method to obtain a valid micro analysis of specific agents in this case. In keeping point of views like this alive in society, we are making those races that are seen as second rate, have no possibility of amplify their status. Realizing that there are no natural elements improving one race than another. Race, which prompts injustice, is basically something that is in use to establish brutalities, merciless and unforgivable treatment of persons all around the globe. Racism should be congested.

Jane Elliott has constructed a study to simulate racism throughout today’s society. The study included volunteers of many nationalities and gender. Instead of ranking people by skin color, the study ranked subjects/volunteers by eye color to simulate discrimination in society. Typically people with brown eyes are seen as a minority in society so throughout the study, brown eyes were the superior group. When the subjects are ranked in a vertical pattern as in a hierarchy as superior or inferior they are experiencing social stratification.

Showing concern for the fellow being is the need of the hour which will give comfort and solace to the inhabitants of the world. Humanity thrives well if the people of its society live with the concern. Everybody expects care and warmth from the society forgetting the fact the little drops from every individual will make a mighty ocean. It is the apt time to think about what is wrong with the attitude of mankind to check what will harm the present as well as future generations. The writers who write science fiction try to create awareness and at the same time give an alarm to the society.
“You don 't fight racism with racism, the best way to fight racism is with solidarity.” Naturally, societies don’t tend to understand change, and it scares them.
