Langston Hughes poem " A Dream Deferred " consists of different series of images about the delayed dreams. The poem talks about what may happen when the society neglected and denied the opportunity to fulfill its dreams. The poet presents in the poem the Black American dreams as a frustrated and does not offer any solution for the deferred dreams. The poem does not indicate to a specific dream, while it indicates to the whole Black American dreams. In my essay I would write about a series of images about the delayed dreams that the writer presents in the poem. One of these images that the poet presents is rotten meat. The poet describes the delayed dreams as a rotten meat that has excluded or forgotten and became worthless. The Black American dreams became fustier and the Black citizen no longer have the power and the control to make their dreams come true, this leads to make their dreams rotten, neglected and valueless. The poet indicates according to the poem that the postponed dreams is harmful and pothering for the Black citizen and indicates the disastrous resulting of ignoring people's dream. …show more content…

The poet describes the dreams as a fresh, nutritious and beneficial food, that does not have any blemish and damage. But now it seems to dry up and became more fusty, worthless, unhelpful and harmful because the dreams have been neglected and overlooked for too long time, it has probably drained as what happened to the Black people in America which make him tired of trying again to fulfil their dreams because they are so weakness and do not have the power to hope and dream.
