ΔΓ D-E-L-T-A L-T-A L-T-A G-A-MM-A MM-A MM-A DELTA DELTA DELTA GAMMA GAMMA GAMMA! I have been in college for a little over a month, and after my first week here, I was accepted into a new home: Delta Gamma. Delta Gamma is an all women sorority that was founded in 1872, in Oxford Mississippi. There are 150 Delta Gamma Chapters in the United States. Every Delta Gamma sorority has their own “chapter” which distinguishes all of the different Delta Gamma Locations. Even though there are 150 chapters, we all have one thing in common: sisterhood.
There are several components to being in a sorority and sisterhood is one of the most important. By pledging a sorority, you are accepting these girls as sisters, and to create friendships of a lifetime. …show more content…

This house inhabits thousands of different personalities and each year, new ones are added. This year marks the 130 year anniversary of success at the University of Nebraska, which means there have been 130 different pledge classes and endless memories. However, Delta Gamma was not an instant success, this house stands here today thanks to George Banta, who was Delta Gamma’s only mail initiate, he was actually a member of Phi Delta Theta, he worked towards making Delta Gamma a true sorority for women, which was unheard of at the time. All of the small rooms come together to form one beautiful house. Delta Gamma is the only sorority house on campus that has not been renovated in over 20 years, the paint is the same, the furniture is the same, and so are all of the decorations! When alumni come visit their faces always fill with joy because all of their memories come flooding back since the house had not changed since they were Delta Gamma’s. There is no specific reason why the house has been the same, there has been annual donation collections for the house in hopes of a renovation in the near
