What does Btk mean ? Dennis Lynn Rader (born March 9, 1945) is an American serial killer who murdered ten people in Sedgwick County. Between the years of 1974 and 1991. He is known as the BTK killer(or the BTK strangler). "BTK" stands for "Bind, Torture, Kill", which was his signature.The life of the Killer was very accusing The killer was a father and and a husband. The oldest son out of 4, Dennis Rader grew up in Wichita, Kansas. He may have had signs of trouble early by stated that he used to hang stray cats as a child. Dennis Rader served in the U.S. Air Force from the mid to late 1960s. He married his wife Paula in 1971 and worked for a camping gear company for a few years. Then had two kids. The first method used was strangulation, and Rader took a watch and a radio from the home. Strangulation and taking souvenirs would become part of his pattern of behavior. He also left semen at the scene and later said that he derived sexual pleasure from killing. The Oteros' 15-year-old son, Charlie, came home later that day and discovered two bodies. Dennis second crime happened three years later on March 17, 1977, Wichita police were dispatched to 1311 South Hydraulic Street . Upon arrival, police entered the home and discovered 26-year-old Shirley Vian dead. She layed on her bed partially undressed, hands and feet bound, a plastic bag draped over her head. Upon removing the bag investigators noted the BTK's signature cord wrapped tightly around her neck. The children managed to free themselves and call the police. They had found a book with a note it in. The letter they have found was put in the newspaper and aired on the news. Everybody had an idea, and he said “ it's hard to control myself.” Rader was arrested on February 25, 2005, and later charged with 10 counts of first-degree murder. Some neighbors and members of his church, where he served as president of the church council, were stunned by the news and could not believe that the man they knew was the serial killer that had haunted the area for so long. However he didn't have a favorite victim. He killed anybody in his path at the time the X-Factor was talking to him. Dennis then made a disc of everything he had done and it was okay for him to do it to the incident people. At this time he asked the police if there was away he could send this video without them coming and arresting him. The chief said yes but really he waited until the next day went to his house and there he got arrested. Dennis couldn’t believe the chief had lied to him so in shock and feeling guilty he was locked behind the bars.
