4. Organizational Structure 4.1 The Structure Denny’s uses The Divisional Structure because they operate in different geographical regions, in which they can cover different types of products or marketing styles. The company has three executive officers that report to the CEO. To add to this our good people over at Denny’s have created four Regional Vice Presidents Of Operation that will have the responsibility of the company within a geographical region. Each RVP will ensure the company's profitability and success to benefit Dennys. I would recommend that Denny's uses a Matrix structure, which is a mixture of both a Divisional Structure, and a Functional Structure, so Dennys can enjoy the benefits of both organizational systems.

This strategy goes back to 1953 when Harold Butler was asked why he started Dennys. He answered by saying “because I love to feed people”. If you take a look at the target market at dennys its main demographic is an older crowd, however Denny's has been taking steps in ensuring the appeal to a younger group. Take the Denny's twitter for example, they are always coming up with witty tweets that appeal to social trends, in doing so they are flipping their target market from a restaurant you would take your grandparents to into a restaurant where you and your friends can go enjoy a meal. We will go in depth into their marketing strategy by using the 4 P’s. Product: The reason why we see Denny’s using the red and yellow in their logo is because, colors communicate a message, when someone sees red in a logo they automatically get hungry, causing them to stop and eat at their restaurant. Denny’s offers a service that increases the want for the product, and it is called Denny's On Demand. It is a system where a customer can order Denny’s online and eat it home. Price: The meals at denny’s offer an affordable price of $10.99 for an all American Slam, which is a hearty breakfast dish, which is customer friendly in the family diner market.
