One big step forward into following my dreams. I am originally from Connecticut. I was born and raised there. Needless to say, the majority of my family and friends also live in Connecticut, which is where I call home. Shortly, after graduating High School in the year 2020, I became a Dental Assistant. I actually never thought of being in the dental field but, I took a leap of faith. During my time working as a Dental Assistant I fell in love with the field of Dentistry. Being able to be hands on and help people change people's lives one at a time because oral health is very important to our overall health. I learned so much from this. Eventually, I began searching for schools and accumulating more information, but, to my surprise, Dental Hygiene Schools are extremely expensive in the state of Connecticut. At this point I was slightly discouraged, but that all changed when I began looking for schools in the State of Florida. After looking at a couple, I found Concorde and it was everything I was searching for. It was an accelerated program that included prerequisites and just felt so welcoming. I consider myself a very goal-oriented person and I am willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish my goals. That new goal for me was getting into Concorde. I went home and told my friends and family I'd be moving to Florida with my sister to pursue Dental Hygiene. It was a sad moment for everyone. It was bittersweet and still is now. Through all the sadness and tears, everyone was very supportive. Next thing you know, I was on a flight to Florida. It was, and still is, a huge adjustment. I just remind myself what it's all about.
