Hey, what’s up misunderstoods? Things are probably looking down for you but, let’s clear up this unsettled topic once and for all. Depression is misunderstood by many. Have you ever wondered if depression is a disease or not? Or maybe not even wondered but believed that depression is disease because people said so. Well, it’s not. I chose this topic to clear the misinterpretation of mental disorders such as depression. Society looks down upon these people as their depression is contagious. People label feelings as a problem. Depression is a feeling. Feelings are part of human nature. You can’t say that you have a disease just because you are feeling something. According to Dr. Gregg Henriques depression is a signal, an emotional signal. It just means that one’s psychological health is not ideal and that one’s psychosocial/relational needs are not being met. For example, it’s like when you fall and get hurt.
