Writing is different for everyone, from start to finish. I have certain preferences when writing. I prefer to be outside or somewhere peaceful and quiet. I like to start my writing with paper and pencil but first I make an outline or jot down notes of my thoughts about the topic. I find myself more of an organized writer if I plan it out. I tend to add more detail also and my thoughts are more complete. I have many different ideas on how to explain how I write including, writing style, thought process and the way I begin writing. I have a writing style that I use in more than half of my pieces. Since eighth grade I was taught how to write in MLA style, I have had write like that for all of my school papers since then. My writing has developed around that style of writing and that is what most of my writing looks like. In MLA you need an Introduction, Body Paragraphs and a Conclusion and in some cases a works cited page. Before writing I usually have a good idea on what I want to write. Before writing a single word on my paper or typing a single word, I plan my thoughts out on paper. I either make an organized or I write down my thoughts. After doing this I look at all my note that I have written down and see which order I would like them to go in. I would like to learn different ways to organize my writing to make it easier to follow. My thought process doesn’t stop there. In planning I leave room to add more ideas while writing. I do this through the whole essay, I always add more detail and use different word choices as my writing progresses.
