1. Describe the lead character(s) of the book:
Name of Character: Santiago
Description: Santiago is the protagonist of the Alchemist. He is a sheperd from a small town and ever since he had been a child, he had wanted to know the world, He is of curious nature. The dream that changed his life is about finding the treasure near the Egyptian pyramids. He travels from Andalusia in southern Spain to the Egyptian pyramids is search of hidden treasure learning life lessons along the way.

Name of Character: Alchemist
Description: The Alchemist is a mysterious character and an extremely powerful practitioner of alchemy who resides at the Al-Fayoum oasis. He appears to possess magical powers and he is able to convert all metals into gold and cure all ills. The mythical magic that surrounds his desert existence enchants even those who never meet him. He plays the role of a teacher of Santiago and helped him in his journey from the oasis to the Egyptian pyramids.

2. Describe any two significant events from the book:
Event 1: Falling in love.
Santiago meets a desert women named Fatima whom he falls in love with. They met on the way to Al-Fayoum and Santiago wanted to stay with her. She was gorgeous and has the most enchanting voice ever. He cannot believe that she was not engaged already. He loves her company so he visits her everyday but after some days he had to leave because at that time his first priority was to get the treasure that he saw in his dream.
