1950 The two World Wars had a lot of impact on many people. Men’s suits were broad -shouldered, double breasted. The features were bolder in accessories, details, and cuts. Since movies and television became the mainstream, the style wore by Hollywood celebrities became popular. 1950 era was marked by parallel development of two types of clothes, leisure and work clothes. Long jackets with drape suits worn with wide pleated trousers made it easier to dance. During this time white plain t- shirt was considered underwear. Marlon Brando, a famous movie star, made a breakthrough by wearing a plain t-shirt. He created a foundation of the new trend in style during this decade. Corduroy jackets with leather buttons and chino also became fashionable. 1960 There was a lot of changes during the 60s from the civil rights movement; the shocking assassinations of Martin Luther King and John F. Kennedy, the Vietnam War. Men’s 1960s fashions that emerged out of this changing time, and many which continue to live on today.
