Pregnancy is an exciting time full of change and anticipation. As your baby is growing month by month it is getting ready to enter the world. After nine months it will be developed enough to sustain life outside the womb. The process of a baby’s growth in the womb is fast but every minute is important. Every pregnancy is different but the process of the baby’s growth and how it developed is usually the same. The first trimester is the most important time in the pregnancy because the baby will grow and develop rapidly. In the beginning of this time the baby will only be a small spec on the screen. By the end of the second trimester your baby will be about four times as big as it was at the end of the first trimester. The baby will start to be more active and you might feel its movement in the fourth month. It begins to form teeth in the gums and fine hair begins to grow all over the body. Your baby’s intestines and digestive system are formed and the first stool is present. During this month you will be able to find out the baby’s gender if you wish to do so. The baby weighs about 5 to 8 ounces and is around 6 inches long at the end of this fourth month. In the fifth month the eyebrows, eyelashes, and ears are being developed. Your baby can most likely hear at this point in the pregnancy. The baby starts to swallow and suck and you might be able to see it sucking its thumb.
