In the documentary “The ten Town That Changed America” Geoffrey Baer illustrates the evolution of ten popular cities of the 21st century America. Done in chronological order, the documentary explores how these US cities were developed by visionary citizens who combined, urban planning, design, and architecture to change the way people lived. According to the documentary, these planners had passion and great insights for urban development, although driven by different inspirations and motivations. But one thing was central to these people: to build an environment that would change the way people live in America.
For example, the Jaslin Hotel allows people from further places to come and stay so they are able to enjoy more of the things that Chinatown has to offer, while Starbucks can give them a familiar taste while experiencing the unique tastes of the Asian culture. In terms of the advantages of the development of country park as housing purpose, a large group of Hong Kong people can be benefited from the development (i.e. wide coverage) as developing country parks can increase the housing supply in Hong Kong. According to the Hong Kong Housing Authority, as at December 2016, there are around 148000 general applicants for Public Rental Housing and the average waiting time is 4.7 years. I was about 10 years old when I went in my second haunted house ever in Dubuque, Iowa. It was a huge building made out of dark wood and metal. Although it’s appearance was scary, I wasn’t very scared because I went to one in Clear Lake, and I didn’t get scared at all. In fact, I felt brave because my 8 year-old brother, Zack, was scared and I wasn’t. Zack was taking it way too literally as he always did.

It is somehow hard for us to discover the beauty of nature in Hong Kong, the hustle and bustle city. Only when we put the work or stress away temporarily, can we truly feel how beautiful the place we are living is. As a pessimistic person, I often get stressed easily.
