Hera
Half of the sky is black.
Much of the world is covered by the shadow of the thing. In some places, night time lasts hours and hours, as its shadow passes by in the morning, casting darkness over the sky. Sometimes we have darkness in the middle of the day, it depends
Each day, the darkness gets longer as the thing gets closer. I worry about it. What will happen if it hits earth? What happens if the president is wrong?
The thing does have a name. It’s called Hera, which is technically short for (80677) 2029 GH87.
The pastor says it will be fine, that God will save us. He wouldn’t create the universe to then kill all the living beings within it.

There was water and nonperishables stored within the shelter, which helped me get by. They were running out, fast, as half were destroyed in the initial hgue earthquake.
