Descriptive Essay: Heiser Tennis Academy

A New Academy

Tennis balls are being hit from left to right, sweat is dripping from all parts of my body, everyone on the team is making an effort to win the game, and everyone else on the team is depending on me for the last point of the game. My opponent hits me a short slow ball and I strike the ball as hard as I can into the right corner of the court for the game winner. The other guy tries his hardest to get the ball back in play but the ball flies out of bounds. The smiling faces of my teammates running over to me yelling, “Yes! That’s how we do it D!” fill me with joy. I can’t help but smile back and high five my teammates, it was another good win for the Heiser Tennis Academy and all because of me. I had never in my life felt like I belonged to a team or felt like I fit in until Mr.Heiser hit me with his words. I was very proud to be a Heiser player now, I was on top of the world.

One day after school I smelled something fishy in the air. I saw that where my dad was taking me was not in the direction of where the Heiser Tennis Academy facility was. However I said nothing because well maybe he was taking a detour that I didn’t know about. Then the bright red alarms started flashing at me. I can hear alarms ringing in my head, where my dad was taking me was in the direction of our rival, Glenview Tennis Academy. I panicked and said, “Dad why are you not taking me to Heiser’s??? Why are we going to Glenview Tennis Academy??” “Just relax and go out there and play the way you normally play” , my dad said. He didn’t answer my question at all and all I could think about was what my buddies at Heiser’s would think. Would they actually miss me? I didn’t know what to do, it was as if someone punched me in the mouth. We approach the facility and my eyes dilated at the big banner that read “Glenview Tennis Academy”.
