Behind the imposing structure of the Massachusetts’s State House, amidst the reek of governance and corruption, there lies a memorial in the Ashburton Park Entrance. With the glistening golden dome reflecting on it, the memorial is often ignored in bustling Beacon Hill. Acting as an area of serenity, the Massachusetts’s Fireman’s Memorial is a tremendous dedication to those who serve.

He is pointing with his left index finger in the direction of the Ashburton Park entrance, mimicking the gestures firefighters make when flames spread. Furthermore, he is holding a radio with his right hand. The grip of the firefighter’s hand on the radio is so forceful that one can see his veins bulging from his hand. Perhaps the tightness of the grip signifies the importance of the radio to the firefighters, as it is a valuable possession that allows them to communicate with each other. In front of the firefighter there is a bag, possibly filled with more equipment to help them combat the fire.
Then, continuing in a clockwise direction, there is the third firefighter swinging what looks like an axe. In addition, the firefighter is bending his knees showing as if he was mustering up all the strength he had to swing the axe. The ferocity behind the swing shows the passion and grit that firefighters have when trying to destroy an obstacle in their path that prevents them from putting out a fire too free a trapped individual. In between the legs of the firefighter there is a fork like object and a glove. Those items may have been lost in the midst of the firefighters scrambling to put out the
