A Drop of Thought
Another paradox in my life; nothing uncommon: Why is it that every time I am told to go to that place I don’t want to, but when I get there, I simply crave to stay as long as possible or maybe forever? Why does the whole idea of taking a long shower sound so alluring and enveloping to me? The process of showering is as complex as all the neurons in my brain. All of the movements have a meaning and are a separate feeling for the mind and body. Starting from the collision of the feet with the cold ground, through the delicate touch of the warm water drops, to the last swipe of the towel on the skin, it is an adventurous ride through the darkest places of the mind’s palace.

Or maybe it was your mind tricking you as it has had enough of the ‘real world’, and like a medieval catapult you get up and subconsciously proceed to our next step. It conveniently has to do with the outer world. The preparation for this creative shower is somewhat materialistic. Choosing the right products to caress your senses is not an easy step. There is the shampoo, the shower gel, conditioner and even the type of sponge you use matters. Each one should have the right scent in order to activate all your senses. Different smells evoke feelings. They can even bring back memories. For example, the smell of tropical fruits sends some people to their dreamy place; others prefer lime grass or bubblegum and that may remind them of a childhood story or a favorite holiday. It is up to you to choose which ones make you feel relaxed and as light as a feather.
When talking about relaxation, there is one thing to be done before stepping into the shower, and it symbolizes the transition from material to spiritual, from body to mind.
