The cars rumble past along the rough cobbled streets that stretch past the point an eye could see. The clicking of the heels in a hurried rhythmic pattern is enough to disturb the sleep of anyone nearby. The birds chirping songs and the rustling of the wind against the newly budded leaves go unnoticed by those who haven't the time to hear. Being overwhelmed with thoughts of schedules and to-do lists I barely notice the unlevel sidewalk *ahaed*. *Taking a moment to recover from the stumble my eyes glance around to the street I have walked on for years.* To the right, a large pastel awning is shading the front of a shop from the suns strong rays, which are barely making it over the horizon. The store, at first glance, is identical to many others along the street. The sound of a mutated bell echos through the room, directing its way to each corner where the plastered cream coloured walls meet. The intricately crafted table and chair sets are placed in a zigzag pattern across the checkered flooring. Dust covered pictures and blue ribbons are placed along the walls overhead the ivory wayans-scotting, directly behind the large marble countertops in the centre of the room. One would be too distracted to notice the scuff marks on the counters and the chipped white paint uncovering all the layers that had been painted before, as reflections from a glass encasement drew all the attention. Pacing to gather a closer look, movement from across the room startles the atmosphere. A small, fluffy, bleach white cat is on the windowsill. Its eyes are shut tight and its breaths are swallowed as though it has just waking up from a peaceful slumber. Its pink button nose is twitching to catch the aroma of sugar and sweetness coming from the display
