As the crowd roared, we were up to bat in the 7th inning, 0-0 score in our last possible game. Sweat and dirt running down my team 's faces from a hot long day of softball. A fresh smell filled the air. I was third to bat this inning. I knew no matter what I had to get on base. As I trotted over towards the bench, I sat down and thought to myself, I just got to put it all out there and leave nothing behind. Then got up and leaned against the fence anxiously waiting to get up to bat. I heard the crowd sigh, there is now one out. As a new batter approached the plate, I heard a CRACK, but it was a pop fly deep into the outfield. "Out!" yelled the field umpire. I stepped out of the dug out and nervously walked towards home plate. I gripped the bat tightly and stepped into the batter’s box. I knew it was my time to shine. Since there are now two outs I have to get on base. "Come on Lex, you got this," yelled my teammate. As I get ready for the pitch, the other team 's coach called a timeout. The girl who has struck out every at bat this tournament. My stress level bursted off the charts, as I wondered how I would now get home to score. Suddenly, the pitcher 's first pitch is wild, bouncing off the catcher 's helmet. I see the catcher leaving home plate to run after the ball. I leaped off third base and accelerated to reach the plate in no time. I dove head first into home plate. I got up and jumped up and down on the plate. There was a faded beeping sound from the game clock which symbolizes the end of the game. I couldn 't believe it, we just won. I hear the parents and the coaches yelling and screaming for joy.
