The war has been pretty hard on all of us, with all the constant hustles and bustles it 's hard to ever relax anymore nowadays. Recently, I just got an update today from the Lieutenant that we are moving to Quang Tri. So in the meantime, the guys and I have got a lot of stuff to pack up by tomorrow before we head on out to the next base.
From what I’ve heard, the new place we’re going to is pretty nice compared to Dong Ha. The paths for traveling are supposedly smoother than a paved road, and the area itself will also be out of range of the big artillery across the DMZ, which is a combat free area between two enemies.
Although Dong Ha already has a big combat base, it’ll be a nice change to move into small shabby shacks instead of staying

Unlike Oklahoma, the weather over is pretty humid, and if it 's not humid it 's pouring rain. We also share a lot of things in the military, so it’s hard to get a little privacy now and then. Although we tend to respect each other’s space, it 's hard not to notice the things other men try to hide whenever the sun goes down.
I remember one night I heard one of the guys in my unit begin to throw a fit unaware of his surroundings, as he was living in the moment of the war. Even though we weren’t under attack, the memories he accumulated throughout the war had just begun to invade his mind as if he was being possessed by the fear we all hid deep inside. Some say his behavior that night was probably because he had a nightmare, others say it 's because he’s lost it. To be honest, I have no idea what to think anymore because as time went on, these incidents began to become common amongst others in our unit.
Unfortunately, it’ll be awhile until we can all go home again and recover from the damage we’ve taken throughout the war. Since we still have orders to stay in Vietnam for a while to train and fight alongside South Vietnam, there’s not much we can do except be prepared to defend ourselves against the communists from taking
