It was the first good snow of the season, and my friends and I were up with the sun. Our cabin was now full of the smell of coffee brewing, bacon sizzling, and the fresh mountain air. I sat on the lazy boy recliner and checked the snow and weather reports, “all clear!” I shouted to my friends, Nate and Charles, who were just finishing up breakfast. We were all fulfilled with eagerness to get to the slopes. It felt like forever since the last snowboarding season. We all quickly cleaned up breakfast and started to locate all of our gear that was stuffed away in storage from last season. We made it to the mountains just as they were opening so the slopes were not busy at all, it was perfect for tricks and jumps. My friends and I didn't waste a minutes with messing around while putting on all our gear and buying the lift ticket; we were just all so excited to get to the slopes. We didn't even bother to warm up, as we all went straight to the black diamond runs, and terrain parks. It was no big deal not warming up for the black diamond runs but, not warming up for the terrain parks was one of the worst mistakes I’ve ever made. “Hey, let's make our way over to the terrain park” Nate said as we were on the ski lift. We all agreed, we've been on the terrain park many times before, so it wasn't anything different. When we got to the top of the terrain park, I wasn't as excited as i thought I would be, I got butterflies in my stomach. I didn't want my friends to think I was scared so I thought, “screw it, I’ve done this before it's not anything different. “Come On!” yelled Charles I positioned my board, did a little jolt, and down the slope I went.
