My interest in Design courses stems from the frustration and also fascination when using consumer products that are both badly designed and innovative solutions. Also I love getting my ideas down on paper and developing from a 2D to 3D and having the product work at the end of the design process. One thing that really got me interested in Design courses is that it allows your designs and drawings to be judged by other art and design students or other students or individuals and using their feedback to adjust the design. My curiosity drives into how other designers produce their design and why they choose certain design. The first opportunity to deepen my understanding and explore my curiosity in design was both in the form of A-levels and BTEC studies at my current sixth form college. Design Technology (3D Design) BTEC Diploma has given me an insight into how designers come up with an actual concept or design and the process they go through before having a final product made. Also another thing that got me interested in Design is the ethical and moral reasons behind the whole design process which started from the Bauhaus Art Movement right up to the Streamline Art Movement. One achievement I am proud of receiving is a certificate signed by the Prime Minster after completing a National Citizen Service. This was a result of successful completion of a programme called the Challenge which involves a series of tasks or challenges which has to be completed within a month and part of the task was to lead a group of people to complete the task set for the day. Also I joined a team of mentors for three days to lead a session to be delivered to the teenagers. These experiences made me work with a team of mentors to deliver a session to a group of teenagers and lead them which also helped me develop a team work and leadership
