Social Issues in Desiree’s Baby
The short story “Desiree’s baby” was written by Kate Chopin and the story revolves mostly around racial issues. The author efficiently illustrates in the story the conflicts between white and black people and the discrimination which is shone towards the black society. This short story portrays the conflicts between a mans pride and his family and racial relationships. The theme of the story is “Social Class”, it shows in the story that the different levels of social and racial classes portray you as a person, for example if you are of a higher social class where you are more rich than someone else, that makes your level on the social class list higher and more respected but if you are on the lower levels of social or racial class than it is the exact opposite of being respected, and once people see the different types of people, they judge those people based on there race, sex, and their
