Determination is a quality in which a person tries and achieve a difficult goal and to push through the obstacles that may come with it. In order for a person to be determined they first have to be willing to do whatever it takes.The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring directed by Peter Jackson is a movie, where nine characters are in a fellowship and their quest is to destroy the Ring of Evil in Mount Doom, which is located in Mordor.They want to destroy the ring to secure the fate of Middle Earth. He knows that the ring is going to bring great danger to Shire since his Uncle, Bilbo Baggins had put on the ring. Frodo knows this because Gandalf the Grey told him that whenever someone puts on the ring, the Ringwraiths from Sauron are drawn to the rings power. Frodo shows great determination when he is put in charge of bringing the ring out of Shire and to Bree where Gandalf would take care of it from there. The meeting takes place in a semi circle around a stone table. Elrond says that only one person should take the ring to Mordor, this causes them to start arguing about who should take the ring as they don’t trust one another with it. Frodo suddenly says “I will take the ring to Mordor.” (LOTR, 2001) This took courage and determination, if Frodo had never of said this there would be no fellowship. His determination motivated him to do something significant. He knew that taking the ring to Mordor would come with many obstacles and would be very difficult, but knowing that when the ring would be destroyed and that it will defeat Sauron gave him determination and motivation. “If by my life or death I can protect you, I will.
