Located in the northern part of America, there is a place called Detroit, Michigan. Detroit is the city where motown music and automobiles can always be found in every corner you turn. Other names for Detroit include automobile city, Motor city, Motown and many more. Detroit has many historical places and attracts people from all over the world with its pop music, fine arts, and automotive discoveries over the past years. However, there was a massive decline in jobs in Detroit and that affected Motown music as well because less people were interested in music and more interested in trying to figure out what job makes more money or were just too busy to play music as much as they used to. Although there was a decline, Motown music is still alive and it comes back in different forums and versions named as something else but at its core it’s still Motown music. The ones that did not give up on Motown music and kept it alive and carried it out of those troublesome times now have inspired more people to get back into the groove of Motown music. They reignited the flame that first created the passion for Motown when it was first created. The reason I choose to talk about Motown is because I am originally from Detroit and would listen to a lot of Motown music when coming back from school because it was always on the radio. Motown music was a big part of my childhood because my grandfather was a jazz musician and he played motown music all his life. He’s the reason why my name is spelled differently than the normal Jasmine. His involvement in Motown music guided and drove a path towards my passion for motown
