Families Together was the answer to my problem. I had to work on the weekends and was unable to get my son to the PSR classes and he didn’t go to a Catholic school. At first, I thought I don’t need another thing for me to do. I work full time, go to school, and care for my family, but wanting my son to have Catholic education I signed up for it. I found that the blessings from doing this program far outweigh any of the time or work that was put into doing it. First of all it is so incredibly easy and straightforward. Also, we fit in the time to review the material when it is best for our schedule. Families Together has encouraged me to do things that as a parent I always intended to do, but pushed aside to a later time that never arrived. Examples of this included teaching my son different forms of prayer, praying as a family, ways to serve in our community, and of course making sure we always fit in family fun time. This has helped me be more aware that I am teaching my son not only by what I say but what I do 24/7. Thus, I have started incorporating “life lessons” that tie into what we are covering in the material which makes a more lasting impression. We reviewed the Ten Commandments and how we aren’t to steal. That week the girl at the cash register gave me back way more change than I was owed. This created a life lesson on how if I had kept the money this would be a form of stealing. Another blessing is that my son and I have grown closer as we have gone through the material. I started with the concept that I was going to teach him, but surprised to find that I am also learning. To
