Strategic Planning in My Field of Dream How important is your health? It is very imperative to me. My field of Dream is in Public Health, and becoming an Educator about a disease called Diabetes. Diabetes is the inability of balancing out sugar levels in the blood. From my own person experience of being around different family members, and seeing how much they suffered behind the severity of disease, It made me aware that more people need to be educated about it, and if they do have the disease, It is strongly recommend to see a doctor, get educated, eat well, and exercise. Diabetes, often referred to by doctors as diabetes mellitus, describes a group of metabolic diseases in which the person has high blood glucose (blood sugar), either because insulin production is inadequate, or because the body's cells do not respond properly to insulin, or both. I felt that they all have a strong view, and credible information to support their findings on Diabetes. The three organizations that I have chosen for this assignment is National Institutes of Health, Diabetes Care and Education, and American Associate of Diabetes Educators, and Diabetes Care and Education. My first organization is National Institutes of Health. National Inst states “NIH’s mission is to seek fundamental knowledge about the nature and behavior of living systems and to apply that knowledge to enhance health, lengthen life, and reduce illness and disability” (NIH, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, n.d.) I agree, and support their mission because it is very compelling, and they have a power statement to give hope to others that have this disease. These people can be aware of what they can do to reduce illness, it also sends message to deliver to other people that do not have the disease can be educated about
