Additional information about the character I would like to know is more about Mrs.Mallard and her husband. I want to know what kind of a person he was and what kind of person Mrs.Mallard was as well. I would also like more information on the setting such as where the characters are and their surroundings. I believe that Chopin does not provide this information because she wants the reader to just be focused on the death of Brently Mallard and not all the other components of a story.

With the information I have, I would presume that Brently Mallard did not abuse his wife. I have come to this conclusion because the author writes that Mrs.Mallard will begin to cry again when she looks at her husband's kind and tender hands folded as he lay dead. I also believe that Mrs.Mallard’s husband does love her. Chopin writes “the face that had never looked save with love upon her”. This displays to the reader that her husband only looked at her with love. I do not think Mrs.Mallard loved him back the reason for this is because in the story it says that Mrs.Mallard excepted the death of her husband easily. If she loved him it would have been hard for her to accept. I believe that Mrs.Mallard is relieved that her husband is gone because she can now live life the way she wants or “free” as she repeated. I cannot answer these questions with certainty because this story can be viewed from many different views and sides, there is no specific answer to any of the questions about this
