The war was in its 10th year, It was a bloody and gruesome war, but neither the Greek, nor the Trojan empires showed any signs of backing down. King Menelaus of the Greek empire was already poisoned and dead, however, this did not stop the Greeks from fighting for vengeance. After all of this, the Greeks had enough so they decided to develop a plan. The Greeks pretended to surrender and sail off as a trick. And so as the Greek boats sailed off into the distance the Trojans thought ‘this is it, we have won’, they opened the gates to let everyone out onto the shore and as they were going out the gates to celebrate, the citizens stopped in their tracks bewildered. “The Greeks have left a giant wooden horse for us in surrender,” said a Trojan soldier. “This Greek soldier got left behind and has explained the situation that he got left behind by the others”. Another Trojan soldier informed. Just then Paris spoke up, “I suspect this may be a trick by the Greeks to put our guard down and open our gates and destroy us from the inside.” “Are you sure my son?” said the king with caution in his voice. “Positive father,” Paris said. “Then we shall burn it tonight on the beach!” the king announced as loudly as he could. That night as everyone gathered around, the Greeks inside the horse heard whispers and drunken yells and then, suddenly, the king’s loud yells silence the Trojan citizens. “What happened, the soldier should have freed us by now?” Achilles whispered. He was worried about getting their cover blown. The king held up the flaming torch, which was the final thing the soldier would remember seeing as he stabbed himself with a knife. He didn’t want to live having known he failed all his friends and companions in an attempt to destroy Troy. “JUST BURN THE HORSE ALREADY!!!” all the Trojan men and women yelled, obviously excited to see an end to the Greeks
