The Book of Psalms embody a work of wisdom, praise and anguish and during a period when the writers understood the importance of disseminating this valuable instruction or guidance to forthcoming generations. But more than that, these psalms capture the heart of God and man, as the writers were transparent enough to share their struggles and create an air of intimacy with fellow believers. As a result, 150 psalms in five systematized books were forged. One in particular, Psalm 24, engages our world with the revelation that God is in control, has requirements for intimacy, and that He is worthy of extravagant praise. Considerations such as examining historical value, literary features and elements, and neoteric expression are all facets worthy of reflection, as they give us greater understanding into the mind of God and the beauty and wonder of His Word. Indeed, the psalms, and more specifically Psalm 24, gives us a deeper look into who God is, our place as a body of believers in history, and the hope and life of a future with Him, through His Son Jesus.
