First meeting: We first met Diana when Jack was walking down the street. He heard American country music coming from her house, he was familiar with the sound because he heard his dad listen to it a few times. He kept walking towards her house and heard women's voices. It was Diana's mum and grandma. They were sitting on banana lounges loudly singing along. Jack then looked around and saw Diana. He was surprised when he saw her. He saw her fitting a hose to the tap on the side of the house. Diana saw Jack and made a sign to tell him to be quiet. Diana squirted them and held the nozzle at extra pressure to get the even more wet. After the scene of them running after each other Diana introduced herself to Jack. She mentioned that she had seen Jack on his skateboard and he was quite surprised but he liked the compliment. Diana and Jack went into her house for a drink and they kept talking about the neighborhood and their families for quite a while until he had to head home. Significance: If Jack hadn't met Diana they wouldn't have had a relationship together or had a good friendship. Diana and Jack's relationship are important to the story because it helps them grow up and mature and learn the new things in life when having a relationship. She is the same height as Jack, skinny and developed. When we meet Diana she appeared to be rebellious. This was when Diana sprayed her mum and grandma. Another example of when Diana was rebellious was when she helped her dad burgle Jack’s family's items. Diana can also appear to be kind and friendly as she demonstrates this to Jack when they see each other. Diana only became interested in reading when Jack started reading to her. This shows that she is interested in learning when around Jack. Diana also seems responsible as she regularly walks her dog to keep it
