Diary of a Wimpy Kid The Long Haul At the beginning of the book, Gregory and his family plan to go on a vacation. They plan on going to Disneyland. They tried to fit all of the stuff that they needed for the trip into their minivan, but it did not fit. That is when Greg’s dad decided to hook up their old boat to the back of the minivan, so they had a place to put their stuff. Even with the boat, Greg still had to sit in the back of the van where bags were packed to the top of the van. In the car, they played games like alphabet groceries and I must confess. They listened to Spanish cds most of the way though. Manny slept for most of the trip. Their first stop was at a sketchy motel where Greg slept on the floor. After that, they stopped at the fair. Manny won a pig because he guessed its exact weight. In the middle of the book, they traveled with the pig in the van. The pig was causing a lot of chaos. While leaving the beach, a seagull flew in the minivan through the sunroof. This caused them to rear end the people in front of them. This cracked their radiator. While they dropped the minivan off at the auto shop to get it fixed, they decide to go to a waterpark. At the waterpark Greg lost the locker key. The locker contained their phones and wallets. Greg thought he remembered the locker number 929.The locker was empty when they opened it. They later determined that a family stole the key and their stuff when they took their chair. When they went back to the auto shop they couldn’t pay for the repair because they did not have their wallets. The mechanic patched the radiator in order for them to make it home.
