Greg is Scott’s brother and he is Roger’s friend. Greg gets into trouble a lot and will not comprehend things that are bad, surprising, ect. Greg is a annoying person to deal with because he doesn’t get his way always, and when he doesn’t get his way he blows. The season in Rough Waters is summer. A Rough Waters covers one to two months and there are a lot of rivers in this story.
Greg met someone named Lemon Brown, and Lemon Brown adored his treasure’s. Later on in the story, it introduces the thugs, these thugs were horrible people. All Greg wanted to do was play basketball and not worry about school. His father disagreed with his wishes. Greg’s father wanted him to stay in school and get good grades.
In the book I read SLAM! By Walter Dean Myers at the beginning of the chapter. The dad was mad because Greg has a tutor now and the dad doesn’t think the son need a tutor. Also the dad is mad at Greg because he knows that Greg can do the work but Greg doesn’t make it palatable with his mind he wants to be stubborn and joke off in class and is lazy with his school work. Then when school was over Greg went down to 135th street to talk to Ice Mtisha’s cousin about them being friends again.
This affects Greg emotionally after the fight, as his father does not accept him; thus causing Greg to believe he has failed his father since he follows his dreams and not anybody else's. Greg’s sister, Sharlene, also struggles throughout her discovery of what she wants in life. Sharlene develops an understanding through her brother’s exploration of his life. While talking to Greg she reaches her peak of maturity surrounding the struggle he is going through, “‘You understand what I’m saying?’... ‘Yeah.
My book I am reading is called Diary of a Wimpy kid Hard Luck, This book is a Relistic fiction By: Jeff Kinney. This book has 217 pages. According to Washington Post Diary of a Wimpy kid Hard Luck, is “one of the most successful children’s series ever published.” For the book Hard Luck I think the intended audience for this book would be like 7th grade to 4th or 3rd graders because the Diary of a Wimpy kid is easy to read. Although the sereies are really good and fun to read.
Grodie lives in the shadow of his deceased older brother (the only person who supported Gordie and his aspirations), he is invisible to his own mother, and his dad is always judging him. Chris is bullied by his brother and beaten by his father. Vern is bullied by his brother and somewhat overlooked by his friends. Teddy’s father is known as crazy by everyone and he is constantly judged by those who know his parents. Through all this, the boys are still able to function as a group of kids who are just looking for a place to fit in with one another.
Sydney Tyler English 1302, Summer II Dr. Pamela Howell July 20, 2016 Assignment 3 Assignment Three 3. How does Lamott use her innate sensitivity to her advantage as an adult? Lamott used her sensitivity to hold herself to a higher standard and create a fulfilling life for herself. Cathey’s “My own little secret” story, which effectively makes an appeal to pathos that creates a sympathetic image to readers. Wolverton explains that Mr. Cathey didn’t read at his appropriate level and that he was reading books that were at a “First Grade, Level 1, Ages 6-7.” Also, having to read quietly so that none of his teammates wouldn’t hear him reading aloud (Wolverton, 117). Wolverton goal was to make the readers have some type of sympathy for Mr. Cathey. This strategy of using pathos helps Wolverton to persuade and entertain his readers and also helps to strengthen his argument at the end.
I think Jeff Kinney wrote Diary of a Wimpy Kid because he wanted people to know his childhood stories. Jeff Kinney might have used Greg Heffley to represent him as a child. Jeff Kinney did not like to play sports or be active so he chose a job where you do not have to do much work. Rodrick might have been a sibling or friend of
Alison from Fun Home and Yitzhak from Hedwig and the Angry Inch come to recognize new potential in gender expression in two, touching frames, yet these fleeting moments are provoked and executed in entirely different ways. In both moments of recognition, Alison and Yitzhak encounter a person and an object, respectively, that open possibilities related to their gender. In the case of Yitzhak, he places a wig on his head and is engrossed by the touch of it upon his hands and neck. Yitzhak needs no mirror to validate the feelings of comfort and delight the wig brings him. He is prominently in the center of the shot surrounded in a familiar environment, overflowing with blonde wigs, providing an absurd yet personal touch.
Once her anger passed, Bonnie would usually apologize to her son, but after a time, Greg didn’t even hear it anymore” (Anderson 42). This quote identifies that the life he has at home is never the way he expected it to be and he always got into fights with his parents. When Anderson said, “his mother would rip into him about something- his grades, his appearance, his choice of friends,” it helped me understand the reason why Greg acts the way he does. His mother would constantly find a reason to make him feel less of himself; not being

A famous Prevention example is the 2003 invasion of Iraq, though claimed to be a preemptive war by former President George W Bush it is hard to determine which to classify the attack under. The United States of America “could not prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Iraq posed an imminent threat, or that its motives in deposing Saddam Hussein were just”(Andrew 2011). This means that the United States attacked the Iraqi’s without authorization from the United Nations. However this does not include the threat of terrorism. Whether or not this attack is classified as a Prevention or Preemption attack is still being debated.
