The Hobby Lobby store filed the case against the Secretary Department of Health and Human Services stating that the contraceptive method doesn’t match their religious faith. In fact, they were requested to pay the insurance fee. For them, they said that paying for contraception under the Affordable Care Act contradict the federal law protecting religious freedom. According to IIT Chicago College of Law (n.d.), the contraception requirement set by the government were against some religious policies.
Like most girls her age, Anne Frank also wallowed in the trivialities of adolescence: boys, gossip, and stormy standoffs with her Mother, Edith. Anne kept her diary from June 1942, to August 1944, when the Gestapo raided the family's hiding place. In the first entries in the diary Anne tells that she has just turned 13 years old . She seems to bubbly with laughter and loves to live, playing Ping-Pong, participating in pranks, and flirting with boys. Although she seems popular with her friends at school and is loved by her parents, Anne feels lonely.
In the beginning of the story, Anne is very emotional because she had to leave her friends and old life behind. Our class witnessed two different versions of the story, a play and a movie, but even though these are based off of the same book, they have several differences and similarities. The play version of The Diary of Anne Frank tells the story of Anne and her family trying to survive the Holocaust. In this play Anne and the others are locked in an attic so the Nazis will not find them. In a similar book Night written by Elie Wiesel tells us about how he survived the concentration camp during the Holocaust. In Night Elie and his father are tortured, beaten, and starved by the Nazis but Elie miraculously survived. Although Elie and Anne have different views on religion, both have are sent to concentration camps and have a close relationship with his father.
She was troubled by the news that Mr. Dussel brought of what was going on outside the annex. Scene 3, paragraph 312 “ Mr.Dussel: Right here in Amsterdam everyday hundreds of Jews disappear... “ This news from outside the annex made Anne have nightmares and put the families in danger. It became hard for Anne, she was put into a segregated Jewish school, her father even had to give up his title in his business. On June 12, 1942 Anne got a diary for her birthday, this will later be the reason we know Anne Frank’s story. On July 5, 1942 Anne’s family were forced into hiding; it was no longer safe for their family to live in the outside world. She wrote in her diary “ The world will keep turning without me, and I can’t do anything to change events anyway.” The family spent two years in hiding, it wasn't till August 4, 1944 that the family was found by the police, they arrested everyone in hiding.
Anne Frank was locked up in a house for about 2 years, through that time she had to take more responsibilities than a normal kid. She and her family had to conserve food, water, energy, and heat. She also had to find ways to entertain herself during the long period where they had to be quiet so no one would hear them. Another responsibility that Anne had was trying to keep the peace.

The Holocaust was a time in which millions of people were persecuted and mistreated: people banned together and stood up against prejudice and discrimination by actively and passively opposing the Germans. Citizens that actively resisted used violence and force to directly attacked the Nazis in attempt to save their life. Those that prefered, prepared to resist passively by not using physical brutality, but instead continued their daily lives out of the sight of the Nazis. In “The Diary of Anne Frank,” we see how Meip, a Dutch Citizen resisted the Germans passively, by hiding the Frank family and four other Jewish families in a secret annex above Anne’s father 's business premise during World War Two. They resisted without risking anybody’s life, yet still maintained their Jewish culture and beliefs.
In an entry dated 12 June, 1942, Anne wrote that her journal would serve as a "great support and comfort." She help that in Germany they don’t want this any more for the present days. We need to learn from our errors and that is what we need to focus
Anne has shown many signs of maturity in her relationship with her mother. There are many examples in regards to this topic but there are three examples that stand out. From usually talking bad about her mother a year ago Anne is now ashamed of the “past” Anne. Anne has shown signs of maturity or growth with her and her relationship with her mother and their are many examples to prove it. A mother and daughter are expected to always get along, and a daughter is expected to always respect her mother. Anne Frank and her mother, Edith, have a very complicated relationship. At times, Anne and her mother do not have the expected relationship, and their reality is that Anne sometimes disrespects and does not get along with her mother. Anne acknowledges their relationship when she says, “I simply can’t stand Mother, and I have to force myself not to snap at her all the time and to stay calm when I’d rather slap her across the face. I don’t know why I’ve taken such a terrible dislike to her” (Frank 51).

Is it really efficient to respond to conflict in violent ways, if in the end, it never makes a difference? The most efficient ways to respond to conflict are through a positive attitude, perseverance, and resilience. It is important to understand why problems occur, so they can be easily resolved. Being the ¨leader¨ of the situation, and ¨killing with kindness¨ are solutions that work in many conflicts. Many times, the problem between two people is fixed because of someone making a nice gesture, comment, etc.
