The Holocaust was one of the most dreadful events in history. The German Nazis, under the rule of Hitler, killed nearly 6 million innocent Jews. Many Jews were forced to hide. One of these people was Anne Frank, the main character of Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl . Anne is a thirteen-year old Jewish girl who writes a diary while she is hiding in Amsterdam during World War II. Anne is the daughter of Otto and Edith Frank, she is also the younger sister of Margot Frank. Born in 1929 in Frankfurt, Germany, Anne and her family moved to Amsterdam in 1933. Anne has a mixed perspective of her mother and has now begun to realize that her mother is a “human” as well but is sometimes confused by her mother’s remarks.
