It differed in ways such as the treatment they received during the war. Also they coped with the war in different ways, one accepted the camp and the other went into hiding. Onc way they compared was both books they all struggled during the war. Even though they struggled in different ways both families were still affected during the war. This is how the Diary of Anne Frank and Farewell to Manzanar compared and
During World War II, the German Reich marched across the entire continent of Europe. During the Holocaust, many people became discouraged and lost hope in the future of society. However, the excerpts from “Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl,” written by herself, and “Hitler Youth: Growing up in Hitler’s Shadow” by Susan Campbell Bartoletti, prove that being positive and persevering is the best thing that someone can do. Whether hiding from the Nazis or already taken by them, the best response to have during conflict and chaos is maintaining a positive outlook on life and to persist through difficult times.
In the beginning of the story, Anne is very emotional because she had to leave her friends and old life behind. Our class witnessed two different versions of the story, a play and a movie, but even though these are based off of the same book, they have several differences and similarities. There were many similarities between the play and the movie. The first one I will address is that in both Miep
The Diary of Anne Frank is a very detailed story of what went on during her stay, I am going to explain the difference between events in the book and the movie based on her diary. The first difference is Anne and Petar's relationship, in the book Petar is more closed off and quite about things. In the beginning, Petar didn't really show feelings for anyone, nor did he share what he was feeling. Whereas Anne showed feelings for Petar and initiated things more often. Then as their relationship became closer Petar and Anne talked about things more freely.
“The Diary of Anne Frank” was originally published in diary form after the end of World War II. Since then it has been translated into over one hundred languages worldwide and has been made into a miniseries, movie, play, etc. This essay will compare the play and movie versions of this story. Some similarities the movie and play share are the characters. They are all the same.
The story of Anne Frank is the infamous tale of a Jewish girl hiding from the Nazis. There is a movie and a book/play about her story. It takes place in a secret annex during the Holocaust. Anne, Margot, Mr. and Mrs. Frank have to live in a tiny space with Peter, Mr. and Mrs. Van Daan. Mr. Dussel joins in later, they are hiding from the Nazis that invaded their country, Amsterdam.
The film Anne Frank: The Whole Story and Life is Beautiful both depict the difficulty of a Jewish family during World War II. Anne Frank and Guido Orefice, the two main character in the independent stories, have comparable lives and customs before they are hunted by the Nazis. In Guido’s story, Guido works in and owns his bookstore, in Anne’s story her father owns and manages his company. This reveals that Anne and Guido are rather affluent due to their family’s prosperous enterprise. Another correspondence between Anne and Guido is that neither are exceptionally faithful.
Both the movie and the book have the same exact characters. The characters are on page 510, and the last part of the movie have the pictures of the characters and their names. Another example of a similarity is that Anne has to share a room with Mr. Dussel. He is a dentist from Amsterdam and he had no place to hide so he had to leave his fiance and live in the secret annex. Because of their sharing of the room, they don’t have the best friendship and fight a lot.
Details and quality are the things I usually look for when I read books and watch movies. Anne did a great job of describing her days in the “Secret Annex”, the Diary told how she felt, in the movie she did have voice overs on the situations but it did not give the whole insight of all of her feelings. I feel as though the movie did not show half of the diary’s greatness by not showing the details. In my opinion, the details of the diary show how her current state of happiness and well-being was. Here is an example of my current statement and belief, “It was horrid of me to treat her as I did, and now she looked at me,
In the diary of Anne Frank and the Timeline, there is lots of information to be gathered. There are events that were separated on the timeline and in the play and things that were about Anne Frank in the timeline and the play. To figure these events out, there are many strategies I used to combine information about historical events and personal family. From the play, I learned many things that are both similar and different from the timeline. One thing that I learned that was similar to the timeline was about Anne’s hiding situation.
Have you ever seen the Wizard of Oz? If you have you know the Lion is cowardly but finds courage deep inside him. The Diary of Anne Frank shows that four characters have both courage and hope. They show courage and hope in their thoughts, words, and actions. Those characters would be Anne, Mr. Frank, Miep, and Mr. Kraler.
People go through the highs and lows of life hoping to live a long life. Anne Frank was not able to live a long life because of one man's goal to rid the world of Jews. This man was named Adolf Hitler. The book, The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank and the movie, Anne Frank The Whole Story show us the ways Hitler carried out his goal of exterminating the Jews and how it affected the Jews themselves.
Anne Frank’s Character Development Throughout the War Throughout World War II Anne Frank was kept hidden away in a 500 square foot building they came to call the Secret Annexe. Anne Frank, her family, and the Van Daans endured difficult times of hunger, thirst, and lack of privacy cornered by walls for over two years. Anne confided her observations and feelings of the hard times within her diary she named Kitty. By writing in her diary both before and after the war, one could visibly notice how Anne went into the Annexe as a juvenile and came out as a young adult.
An old man once said, “I like thinking big. If you’re going to be thinking anything, you might as well think big.” (Donald Trump) Thinking big can be challenging, especially if you doubt yourself too much. You have to have the confidence to help achieve your dreams, if you’re not confident enough then you will likely fail.
