The autobiography I read was Anne Frank’s Diary. Anne Frank was born on June 12th, 1929, in the German city of Frankfurt. She was raised by her father, Otto Frank, and her mother Edith Frank, Anne also had one sister, her name was Margot Frank. Anne lived a happily life like any other Dutch girl. For her 13th birthday, Anne got a diary, and in her diary she recorded vivid impressions of her experiences during this period. Other than the fact Anne and her family were Jewish, they lead normal lives. A week after being at the “Secret Annex”, the Van Pel family arrives. The Van Pel’s lived on the 3rd floor of the building. The families were unaware of how long they would be staying there, then, soon they realized they are going to be staying there for a little longer than they expected. They weren’t allowed to go outside, they were forced to stay in a dark and damp place all alone with no contact with the outside world, in fear of being discovered. In November 1942, the eighth person moves in with the Frank’s and the Van Pel’s, his name was Fritz Pfeffer. He was a dentist and an acquaintance of both the Frank and Van Pel family. The families that lived in this “Secret Annex” had to go into hiding because their lives were in danger. The Netherlands were occupied by the German Army, which wanted to capture all Jews and send them to concentration camps. The only people that could escape, were the ones that went into hiding.
