The Diary of Anne Frank by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett is a play based on a true story of a girl named Anne who goes into hiding after Hitler regime because of being a Jew. After reading this essay, the historical events in the play will be clearly reflected through dialogue, stage directions, and Anne’s Diary. The chronicled catastrophes will be reflected by Anne’s diary. At the end of scene 4-line 52 page 186, it presents that the families will have to leave according to Anne’s Diary when it reads “and so it seems our stay here is over.” When Anne’s Diary reads, “stay here is over” it refers to the Nazis going into Jews’ hiding places and taking them to concentration camps. “The people whom Miep got our ration books have been arrested” came from Anne’s Diary on page 167 line 158. “Have been arrested” illustrates that Jews and people that are helping them or have helped them shall be taken away and prosecuted.
