Prior to the oil revolution, arabic nations were experiencing the lowest levels of socio economic, political, religious and cultural development. But the discovery of the oil in the early 20th century impacted to every aspect of Arab nations. The Middle Easter region, in general, experienced a lot more development in various spheres, such as economic and political. Everybody accepted the oil revolution in various ways, according to some public figures, having oil and working with Western companies in the development of the region was a great idea, however according to some other figures such as Abdul Rahman Munif, it was totally wrong and leading to the enormous problems. Abdul Rahman Munif was a Saudi born writer. During his lifetime, he lived in various regions of the Middle East - Jordan, Iraq, Egypt. Some portion of his education was based on oil economics and he started his professional career in the oil ministry of Iraq. But, in 1970s he began writing and majorly criticising the oil deals of Middle Eastern countries. Certain oil exporting giants such as Saudi Arabia banned his novels and demolished his Saudi citizenship. On his novels, Abdul Rahman Munif mainly focused on how Arab countries got destroyed and transformed after the arrival of Western oilmen.
