What to do if you’re worried that a child is being abused this is guidance to help those working with children safeguard and promote their welfare. It also looks at the action if a child needs protection, our specially trained staff will normally investigate together with the police. If you look after somebody else's child and are not a close relative, then this is known by law as private fostering.
