Itzhak Stern, Elie Wiesel. At first glance, Two very, very different people. Which, in a sense,besides both being jewish, they are; but there’s a lot that wouldn’t be expected in terms of their similarities. With Elie seeming very independant, and in a way ruthless. Itzhak is entirely on the other side of the spectrum. Their faith also changed in different ways. Itzhak seemed to still be faithful by the end of Schindler's List. On the Contrary, Elie blatantly stated many times that he no longer was faithful to God. Similarities, and differences these two have between each other are very existent. Their drive to help others, and the sympathy they both share is extensive. From Elie giving his rations up for his father, or Itzhak spending nights on end writing Schindler's List; they both give up more than they necessarily have. Although Elie did towards the end of the novel, start to become greedy, and having thoughts of his father being gone, and how that would make his life easier. He concluded by feeling terrible, lonely, and selfish at his father's death. In likeness, Itzhak would always go the extra mile to do things for his fellow jewish people, even at the potential cost of his own death. …show more content…

His father passes, and he crumbled, physically, he may have been healthier than his father, but his mind was not nearly as sound. His father was always making the wise, executive decisions. This compares to Itzhak on a very peak level. With Itzhak always following the lead of Oskar, and doing as asked, he needed someone to guide him. If nobody was there to guide Itzhak, he would have been sent to Auschwitz, and killed. But Oskar arrived in time to get him off the train. Same goes for Elie.
