There were many differences and similarities between the North and the South. A lot of these differences were made up of their different beliefs, cultures, economy and city structure, and a lot more. They also had ways of working together by the South making the materials and the North assembling them or the South growing and the North preparing. There are just so many ways the North and the South had differences and similarities.
There are many things that the North did differently than the South. These were some things like climate, the economies, and how their transportation was. The North had very warm summers and pretty cold winters. This made their growing season shorter so they could not produce crops during the winter. They also had very clear and fast rivers which were used to power all of the textile mills along the riverside. Because textile mills needed workers, they all needed cities to supply them. This created cities which were also used as trading centers. The coastline had a lot of bays which were useful for shipping goods over to Britain for them to be manufactured for a cheap cost.

For a long time, education was for the wealthy men but during this period this all changed. This changed due to how the times were changing and all of the equality movements. Women, minorities, and lower income citizens were given the right to be educated. There was a large population increase between 1800 to 1850, due to an influx in immigration. Many Europeans were seeking a better life in the U.S. As the advancements of industry grew, so did the population. The culture of the North was vastly different than the South.
