Drawing a Parallel Assignment The Red Scare began in 1919 around the First World War 1. The red scare and the 9/11 attack they have a few similarity but happened years apart. Both are historical events that America had faced with a lot of fear, that it would happen again. Americans saw many different groups of foreigners as the enemy to our country. Americans were terrified in their own stomping grounds. In their country, they felt threaten that their enemies would invade. During the Red Scare, the enemies were communists. The September 11 terrorist attacks, the enemies were Muslims. These two events are parallel in that during the Red Scare there were rumors that Russia and China aim was to spread communism throughout the world. The 9/11 came from a group of muslin attacking us on our own soil with airplanes crashing into the buildings in New York and in Washington. . Both of these events caused us to be more aware of the people around us and their activities they were involved in. It caused the security level to go up all over the USA. Airports, train station, and other transportation systems were on high alert. For most of these events, the terriost that committed these crimes were living here in the USA and the fact that we were so unaware of their activities that we and had our guards down. It’s hard when you feel safe in your country and all of a sudden things change and you then feel unsafe. This is how it was with the Red Scare and 9/11. During the Red Scare, people were even afraid to say anything negative about the government because they thought they would get accused of being communist. With 9/11, many Muslim Americans foreigners were afraid of being looked at as terrorist because it was a Muslims that took over the planes and crashed it into the Twin Towers and the Pentagon. This event killed thousands of innocent people all because these terrorists had found a target to let
