Differences Between Jefferson And Hamilton

The environment around us has a profound effect as we age from adolescents to adulthood because of the subtle lessons we learn in life. Two historical figures almost everyone has heard of, Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson, were both early American political figures that strived to make the country distinguished, but in remarkably different ways. These two individuals were differing fundamentalists of government; this prompted them to form the very first political parties of the United States. The atmosphere and ecosystems surrounding Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton permitted each gentleman to challenge each other ideologically, and their philosophies are still at the forefront of American politics today.

The Roots: Ab Initio

The central government was meant to be weak, and state governments had to be strong because a strong state government allowed for different interpretation among regions and allowed the people to choose how to run their states individually. This necessitated less oversight from the central (federal) government. This did, however, mean that the rules the federal government had to be abided. The constitution, for example, was favored to have a strict interpretation. The individual liberties of the people must be protected by the federal government and to keep an honest democratic government there had to be respect among all

Originally written as a collection of essays meant to favor ratifying the Constitution; currently still used as a historical reference for the original framers ideology. These papers are juxtaposed like Hamilton vs Jefferson because they oppose each other ideologically. The constitution alone, as written, did not protect the rights of the people; the Bill of Rights filled that purpose. The Federalist papers did bring forth some very specific ideas straight from Hamilton that include division of powers, checks/balances, and a sole judiciary. Many of these ideas set forth by Hamilton eventually found their way directly into the constitution which we hold dearly
