During the 1960's, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee was a best seller almost immediately after it was published. To Kill a Mockingbird was a book about prejudice and segregation. When the book was made into the movie the creators couldn't fit all the details in the movie leading to some similarities and differences. To Kill a Mockingbird was filled with a lot of details and information. Therefore, the movie left out some important factors.
The Wizard of Oz, published in 1900, proves to be a story that has survived the test of time. Even today, many critics are analyzing different aspects of the story and there is debate over what type of storyline it follows. Many make the argument that it was written as a myth or fairytale, while others believe the symbols can be better interpreted to have other meanings, such as being related to the Populist Party in the late 19th century and issues from the time period. Although many symbols and characters throughout the novel parallel common Populist ideas and people, it was not intentionally written to be a Populist allegory by Baum.
Although The Wizard of Oz and The Wiz (Remake) both are musical films, they both have the same name of characters such as Dorothy Gale, The Scarecrow, The Tinman and The cowardly lion, However the films are different from each other. Yet in The Wizard of Oz there were American star actors such as Judy Garland, Ray Bolger and Jack Haley to start off the original version. On the other hand The Wiz had an African American cast such as Diana Ross, Michael Jackson from the Motown productions of the well-known Quincy Jones. Even though, the classic films have similar names both films plots are totally different, whereas Dorothy Gale of The Wizard of Oz lives in Kansas of the early 1900’s in a farmhouse, and then trapped in her aunt’s and uncle’s
Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, is a story about two close friends who are put through difficult times. This book was made into a movie. Throughout the story George and Lennie become inseparable friends, and face many situations together. The guys go into town without lennie. After Lennie does his bad thing he can’t find the “spot” he’s suppose to go to.

Both Gatsby and the Wizard of Oz shares similar qualities. Both characters want to change their life. The Wizard of Oz is pretending to be a great and powerful wizard when in reality he is just a man behind a curtain talking into a microphone. Meanwhile Gatsby is trying to change his life such that he does not want to be Gatz but instead he wants to be Jay Gatsby.

Plus,and you just want to know what happened. They both have many differences, but not many similarities. Some of the differences are very big changes and might make you like the other one more.
The Lottery is a short story about a town of people that will crowd and all the men will get a slip of paper all the paper is blank… besides one and that one has a black dot, so a lucky person will get it and if they have a kid older than 16 they have play this game, anyway the winner will get a “prize”. The Lottery story and The Lottery movie have many things that were different. The Lottery story is different from The Lottery movie by where it is located and where the event took place, such as in the story they were sacrificing someone in a large field while in the movie they were stopped by the building. If they didn’t have the building in the way she could have lived longer while if they did she would have died sooner.
No matter how hard directors and screenwriters try, it is impossible for any movie to be a perfect reflection of the detailed plot and intricate characters presented in a novel. I had watched the film adaption of Richard Matheson’s I Am Legend prior to reading the book, I was very aware of major differences from the get go. The to main categories that I could see differences being placed in were emotion and action. Many aspects of the book were changed to emphasize both either emotion or action for the film. Considering pieces of literature cannot be easily transferred to the screen, few of these changes were very necessary.

As written in “The Great Gatsby”, the first example of similarity is that the book has the same theme to the “Roaring 20’s”. In the written book, Fitzgerald described the parties as huge and dramatic, where as in the movie, the directors did a fantastic job translating Fitzgerald’s words into a lavish visual spectacle of booze, sequins, and confetti.

Beowulf is about a heroic fellow who saves a kingdom from a magical named Grendel. He went through numerous of battles between Grendel, Grendel’s mother and the Dragon. In this essay I will be discussing the different event that happened in the story and the movie.
In The Wizard of Oz by Victor Fleming, 1939, specifically during the beginning scene, Dorothy was in sync with the setting. Dorothy was in the proper placement of the props around her, adding to the feelings of her reflecting the place she is in. The background eluded to the idea that she is far away from the golden spherical instrument that 's supposed to hold a globe, on the window sill in the background. There 's also an interesting painting below the window sill, it 's a golden band of boxes; this could be the representation of how Dorothy is gonna get to where she 's going, the yellow brick road. However, the crystal ball seems to be the most prominent part of the scene, the contrast of Dorothy 's position enhanced the feeling to the viewer that Dorothy is scared and alone.
The Wizard of Oz has revealed to be an exceptionally well thought out film when analysed. The film has made use of stylistic elements such as colour, light, sound and mise-en-scene which coincide with the various twists and turns of the plot as Dorothy moves from Kansas, to Oz, and back again. In The Wizard of Oz, the directors have employed the use of different unique editing techniques despite being an early film. It is obvious that the audience is able to notice the absence of colour in the beginning and ending of the film. The audience is able to identify the mood and overall feeling for Dorothy when she is in her family farm in Kansas.
Hercules is a greek god myth born of the almighty god Zeus. Hercules had superhuman strength, which he is now most famous for his 12 labors. And even though those 12 labors are the same they are described and done in many different ways. Which means both the graphic novel and film version of Hercules include literacy characteristics of characters, setting, and Denouement; yet both have such differences as well. For an example, in the graphic novel he goes cytopathic and kills his wife and children while in the film he gets married and doesn’t have any kids at all.
