Fahrenheit 451-1966 full movie version- Julie Christie The book is definitely unlike the movie. In the movie, the man gets a phone call from a lady telling him to get out of the house. The lady caller cries, “Get out quickly, you’ve got to get out of there!”
In the beginning of the book Mary was stuck in a room with no windows and never got outside, but in the movie she was allowed out of her room and did go outside to play. I thought that the movie did a better job with this then the book did. The book just kind of said this and then moved on with the story. The movie gave a little bit more detail on the subject. Her parents died by a large earthquake in the movie, but in the book they both died along with other people in their kingdom from cholera, and that is why Mary had to go stay with her uncle Mr. Craven.
Is your America the same as my America? The book titled Our America was published by LeAlan Jones, Lloyd Newman and David Isay in 1997. There is also a movie called Our America Which was made by Ernest Dickerson in 2002. Both the book and the movie is about the same thing, it’s about how people on the west side of Chicago live. The book and the movie version of Our America have many differences such as David Isay is a very important person in the movie but he isn't in the book, Lloyd and LeAlan fusses a lot, and in the movie they talk about how they got bad publicity for being two black boys being punked by a white man but they don't even talk about that in the book.
Our America is a book and a movie of the struggle in the Southside of Chicago. Even though, the main plot of the book and the movie was how two characters named Lealan and Lloyd find a way to broadcast their struggles in living in the Southside of Chicago. But, both the book and the movie have the main plot of Eric Morse’s death. Which happened in 1994, two boys Johnny and Tyrone threw a 5 year old boy named Eric out the window because they wanted him to steal candy and he didn’t and so Eric snitched on them. Our America: the book and the movie has similarities and differences such as the plot , character, and other things.
The book Fahrenheit 451 was turned into a movie which included many similarities and differences from the book. The biggest difference was Clarisse in general because she was a teacher instead of a student, she never died when it was said she did, and her overall character was a little off due to these simple changes. There was also no war in the movie, which made it so that there was no bombing at the end so the city wasn’t destroyed. Faber also wasn’t in the movie, although he was a major character in the book because of his influence over Montag. While there were many differences there were also similarities, but they were mostly small details.
The book Ready Player One written by Ernest Cline and the movie produced by Steven Spielberg had many outstanding differences between the world Earth and in the world called the Oasis. The dystopia culture on earth from the book to the movie was a disappointment. There were many differences in the changes between the book and the movie. For one the scenery in the movie is very different and gives the movie less of a dystopian world than it was being portrayed in the book. “The people of Planet Earth had other concerns.
“Things are rough all over.” (The Outsiders pg.35) To begin, The Outsiders takes place in the 1950’s-60’s in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The conflict of The Outsiders concentrates on the gang rivalry between the Greasers and the Socials or “Socs,” who live on opposite sides of town. Moreover, the protagonist of the story is Ponyboy Curtis who has two brothers, Sodapop Curtis and Darry Curtis.
They slightly differ from one another. The novel is set way into the future with many types of new technology and obviously very new laws on censorship. The film is set in a contemporary futuristic setting, but it lacks some major features from the book. Three big ones are the wall-sized televisions, jet-powered cars and most importantly, the mechanical hounds. The main reason I say the most important is the mechanical hound is because it has a large roll in the government trying to capture Montag.
The movie Grand Illusion was very different from the novel All Quiet on the Western Front. The stories and settings were completely different, and had very little to do with each other. But even though the film and the book are completely different, they both give the same idea of the war being a horrible place, the movie had just approached the topic very mildly (in comparison to the book). The movie had avoided war on the battlefield, along with harsh conditions, and focused in a prison, instead. The novel however felt like a heavier topic, more emotional.
For this project there has been a number of things that I will explore to possibly use in my FMP such as the film and Graphic Novel: V for Vendetta. As well as it’s visual aspects it heavily involves political conflict, war and is still relevant to present day due to currents activists named as Anonymous. It explores both non-physical and aesthetic themes which I could explore in depth and experiment with. The book 1984 by George Orwell is also a literary text that I could possibly take into consideration when planning my FMP.
The two main similarities between the two works of fiction are both tackled the idea of rebellion and the dangers of a totalitarian government. Additionally, the main difference between the two pieces is the conclusion of both stories. 1984 and V for Vendetta both tackled the idea of rebellion. In 1984, Winston rebelled against the standing party of Oceania. Winston’s rebellion started when he committed a thoughtcrime against Big Brother and wrote his thoughts in a dairy, which is against the party’s agenda.

V V for Vendetta was a movie made in 2006 it is about a masked vigilante named “V” he blows up parliament to free his fellow countrymen from a totalitarian country. This movie takes place in a dystopian future in Great Britain. While, many may not believe the fact that V for Vendetta and Shakespeare are correlated, they are. To be specific, Shakespeare’s playwrights Hamlet and Macbeth are both allusions in V for Vendetta.

The main characters Noah Calhoun and Allie Hamilton are played by popular young actors, Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams. Though the book and movie are based on the same love story, they have many differences, some minor and some major.
